Turning Recycled Waste into Mini Living Oceans

A grassroots Cornish movement exploring simple, ocean-positive carbon removal.

What We’re Doing
(And Why It Matters)

Ocean Buffer Project is a small grassroots, not-for-profit movement based in Cornwall. We’re testing simple ways to grow marine algae on land, create reusable materials using the dried biomass – such as our own Ocean Composite Clay and biochar, all while removing carbon from the environment and locking it away. We do this as a community and by using recycled or repurposed items saved from landfill. It’s early days, but we’re currently building our first Ocean Buffer Hub together, as well as running algae trials.

We’re documenting every success, mistake, and surprise along the way. Get behind the scenes, see our latest experiments, and be part of a fully inclusive community exploring tangible climate action at a small, human scale.
